Most of my friends/family don’t even bother asking where I’ve bought things from these days, as my reply nine times out of ten is ‘TKMaxx!’.
If you don’t already shop in TKMaxx then what are you doing? You’re missing out!
I’m going to share my top three tips to help you find a true TK bargain.
If you’re going to delve into this store, you need to make sure you have time and time to spare.
It’s pointless going in if you only have 10 minutes, yes, you might just happen to see something cool, but you could be missing something even better!
I (ashamedly) spend at least 45 minutes in there, and I find something EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Which is great. But also not great, because I have no will power to put things back on the shelf.
Tip 2 – Create your own TK Hit List. Decide on the departments that you want to check out before you go in, otherwise you can end up wandering aimlessly.
For example, every time I go in I work round in this order…
–Bags (Don’t be scared to rummage, recently there has been way more designer bags appearing even in the smaller stores. Lots of Michael Kors, Lulu Guinness, Radley etc, you’ve just got to want to find them!)
–Dresses (Followed by other clothes if I can be bothered/have the time/have the spending money)
–Sports/Active Wear (I buy all of my gym stuff from the Maxx, it’s way way cheaper)
–Candles (I’m a sucker for a good quality smelly candle)
–Homewear (Bedding, towels etc. Lots of Orla Kiely goodies to be found!)
–Toiletries (There’s often lots of great make up brand to be found, including Bare Minerals, Mac etc)
Tip 3 – Be savvy and know your brands.
As I mentioned in my TK Hit List, there are load of good brands to be found, if you have the time to look.
BUT, sometimes the prices really aren’t any different. Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because it’s in that store it’s price point is discounted.
For example, recently there’s been loads of MAC make-up in store, but the prices in TKMaxx are about 30p different from the actual MAC prices. And most likely they’re not gonna have the exact shade/foundation/blush you want, so don’t waste your money.
Just because it’s in there doesn’t mean you’re getting a good deal.
Knowing current season is also great. Linen is big news right now, and TKMaxx have a whole load of linen dresses for around the £25 price point.
Modest fashion followers go forth and buy modest AND cheap!
So. If that hasn’t persuaded you to go to TKMaxx then I don’t know what will. Maybe come round mine and I can tell you where everything is from? (Hint, you’re already gonna know the answer).
‘Till next time,
